The Lake Victoria Goldfields in northern Tanzania represent one of Africa’s premier Archaean gold provinces. However, deep weathering, lateritization, and extensive ferricrete development create complex chemical dispersion pathways that exploration geologists must decipher.
In deeply weathered saprolite, gold is often depleted in the upper bleached leached zones and reconcentrated at the redox boundary. Multi-element pathfinder suites (As, Sb, W, Bi, Mo) analyzed via Aqua Regia ICP-MS provide reliable vectors toward buried mineralized quartz-carbonate shear zones.
